FAIRFIELD — City council members, and Mayor Catherine Moy, reflected on their first year in office during council reports at Tuesday’s meeting.

K. Patrice Williams praised the people on the dais for their help. Her district covers Green Valley and Cordelia. “I have a very vocal community,” she said.

“I have not had to make a difficult decision,” she added.

Moy said late Mayor Harry Price was a hard act to follow and she wished she had more time to talk to him about the city before his death.

She also spoke of baking “ugly” Christmas cookies, which she handed out to others on the dais. 

City Manager David Gassaway, noted he was thankful he was not the only one who got a Grinch cookie.

Council members also reflected on the variety of holiday events and praised the police department for its Santa Sleigh, which visits several neighborhoods prior to Christmas.
