A city and its schools share the same families, the same streets and the same future. That is why the City of Fairfield, the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD) and Solano Community College meet on a quarterly basis. I participate in these partnership meetings as part of my council work.
What We Work On Together
- Student safety, including safe routes to school and coordination with the Fairfield Police Department
- Career pathways that connect high school and college programs with local employers
- Shared facilities and events that serve students and neighbors
- Youth programs that keep young people engaged after school and in the summer

Beyond the Meeting Room
The partnership shows up in the community too. I have met with principals across our district to talk about their students’ needs, joined FSUSD back-to-school resource fairs, celebrated students at FSUSD Highest Honors events, visited career and technical education programs, and attended school ribbon cuttings.
Why It Matters to District 1
Families in Cordelia and Green Valley want great schools close to home. Employers want a skilled local workforce. When the city, the school district and the college plan together, we get more out of every public dollar and give our young people more reasons to build their futures right here in Fairfield.
You can see how I have voted on my Voter Record page and every public event I have attended on my Community Engagement Record.
