Cordelia Community Park: EV charging program

The City of Fairfield is excited to announce that its first pilot public EV charging site is now open and available for use. The four 50kW DC fast chargers are located in the Allan Witt Sports Complex parking lot and are capable of simultaneous charging.

The City partnered with EVCS to install a total of 31 DC Fast chargers and 27 Level 2 chargers across eight strategic locations: three downtown, two at park-and-rides, and three at community parks. All chargers will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy and will allow commuters the opportunity to fast charge their vehicles throughout Fairfield, gaining about 100 miles of range after only 30 minutes of charging. Six of the eight locations will feature Level 2 chargers designed for longer charging sessions.

These charging stations are the result of an ongoing collaboration between the City, EVCS, the Solano Transportation Authority (STA), and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD). The STA has played a pivotal role in supporting the establishment of EV charging infrastructure in Fairfield and BAAQMD has provided funding to support charger deployment.
