Why Fairfield Should Vote for Scott Tonnesen and K. Patrice Williams on November 3rd

Why Fairfield Should Vote for Scott Tonnesen and K. Patrice Williams on November 3rd

Fairfield gets to make two important decisions on November 3rd.

Who leads the city as mayor. And who continues representing District 1 on the City Council. Both races matter, and both deserve a vote from every Fairfield resident.

I am endorsing Scott Tonnesen for mayor, and I am asking for your vote to continue representing District 1 on the City Council. Here is why.

Fairfield Comes First

Scott Tonnesen and I are running in a nonpartisan election, which means the conversation stays where it belongs. On Fairfield and the neighborhoods. On the specific challenges and specific opportunities that define daily life in this city for the families who actually live here.

Local government works best when elected officials are accountable to residents rather than to party machinery operating from somewhere else. That is the standard I hold myself to, and it is the standard I want in the mayor’s office.

Why I Am Endorsing Scott Tonnesen For Mayor

Scott Tonnesen is a fifth-generation Fairfield native. He was born in this city and has made his home in downtown Fairfield.

He began his career at his father’s appraisal company and has worked in the industry ever since. He has served on the Fairfield City Council representing District 2 since December 2020.

That appraiser’s background shows in how he looks at this city. Councilmember Tonnesen has a love of Fairfield and an appreciation of houses and buildings that is unlike anything I have experienced.

He Knows The Whole City

I have gone on two ride-alongs with Councilmember Tonnesen. What I realized is that he rides through sections of the entire city, not just his own district. A mayor serves every neighborhood in Fairfield, and he already pays attention to all of them.

He Shows Up For Residents

I also realized that when he gets emails and calls from residents, he pays them visits. He does not just send a reply. He goes to see the issue for himself.

He Is Invested In Downtown And Small Business

I like the improvements and the focus on Downtown Fairfield. Behind the scenes, he helps small businesses navigate the City Planning Department. His goal is no boarded storefronts, and he will bring this same approach to the City of Fairfield.

Peace On The Dais To Get The City’s Work Done

In my experience, the tone on the dais under former Mayor Catherine Moy became very toxic. She resigned on June 9 while the council’s investigation into her residency was underway, and the Council then appointed Rick Vaccaro to serve as mayor through this election. Mayor Vaccaro has represented peace on the dais. Scott Tonnesen represents that same peace, and it is what lets the hard work of the city get done.

Budget And Planning Experience

Another strength is his focus on the city’s fiscal budget and his love of numbers. Scott served eight years on the Fairfield Planning Commission, including three years as chair and two years as vice chair.

That is why I am endorsing Scott Tonnesen for Mayor.

In Memory Of Pam Tonnesen

Rest in peace to Pam Tonnesen, Scott’s wife of more than 30 years, who recently passed away. Pam was Scott’s best friend and his weekly ride-along partner. Scott recently said he thinks Pam knew the city of Fairfield even better than he did. Our thoughts are with Scott and his family.

K. Patrice Williams Has The Record To Prove It

When K. Patrice Williams ran for District 1 in 2022, she made specific promises. Four years later, the record shows she kept them.

She voted yes on Vista Ridge, converting a former hotel into 50 permanent homes for people transitioning out of homelessness, with on-site support services. Construction is currently underway with completion expected February 2027. She initiated the Quo Warranto investigation into Mayor Moy’s residency because she believes the rules for holding office should apply to everyone equally. Also, She voted no on unlimited campaign contributions, casting the lone dissenting vote because she believes local democracy should not belong to whoever has the biggest checkbook. She voted no on North Cordelia industrial development twice, both times because residents in Cordelia and Green Valley raised concerns about truck traffic and she listened.

She delivered infrastructure for District 1. The Red Top Road extension moved forward. Lopes Road received emergency storm damage repairs. The city’s structural budget deficit came down by $8 million during her first term.

Beyond her council votes, her community investment runs deeper than any elected role. She co-founded Solano Impact Care, providing personalized care and meaningful connection for people across Solano County navigating serious challenges. In addition, She founded Hazel’s Tranquility Place, a transitional home named after her mother, giving formerly incarcerated women and their children a safe home and a real pathway forward. She hosts Turning Point with K. Patrice Williams, a livestream show bringing honest conversations about community issues directly to Fairfield residents year-round.

As a council member, she brings a Juris Doctor from San Francisco Law School, an Economics degree from Sonoma State University, and more than 20 years of community service to every vote she casts. That preparation is not background noise. It shapes every question she asks, every budget line she scrutinizes, and every decision she makes for District 1.
